uh huh better double check your toothpaste and shampoo bottles for a while, shuckface [ because there's going to be pink dye in one of those if you don't watch out, shank ]
you know the whole point of those pranks is to not give a heads up, right. but thanks for that, i'll make sure to keep em under lock and key. how long do you hold a grudge?
Oh. Yeah, no problem. They're all hard copies, I can try to find a copy machine? Or a scanner? [ and hope he has muscle memory for how to operate it? ]
If you want to give them to me, I can make the copies. I don't want you to have to spend the money.
[ Plus, if he just hands over the originals, there's a lower chance that he'll be selectively picking and choosing what to give her. He'll probably just give her the whole set, minimum of fuss. And it means she'll have the originals, so if she needs to do any editing before giving it all back, she can. ]
[ Damn. Save her from people with a reasonable sense of caution.
And speaking of senses of caution: ]
Do you think you could have a messenger send it? I work a lot of hours, and it might be hard to schedule a meeting. I'll pay you back for the expense.
[ She's already got three people who know what she looks like; she'd like to keep the number at about that level. She has enemies to guard against, after all. ]
[ he wouldn't have any problem with sending a messenger if it were just infomation anyone could access, but the thing is, there're the personal files of five people that may have absolutely nothing to do with this thing in here. and if the messenger happens to be someone nosey, or someone like freddie lounds, if the general public sees someone like baum's file, the guy will get railed. ]
There's personal information on these notes that can't get out to the public, or to someone like Freddie Lounds. I can leave a copy of the them with the people at the government building, and you can come pick it up whenever.
Or you could come in and help us figure this out, if you want in on the investigation. Stiles and I have been pretty much camped out there lately.
[ which, actually, brings up the question. he assumes if she knew it was thomas who had massive notes it was likely stiles or someone else he'd worked with in the building that told her, but he doesn't actually know who this girl is, and he'd basically have a complete shit fit if these files got waved around like freddie did. not that the investigation isn't open to all of the imports, so there's no difference in him giving her notes than her just walking by and looking at the information at the government building. but, the curiosity is there, and gross curiosity is pretty much his religion. ]
